Genie Garage Door Openers

Q: What drive types do Genie openers use?

Genie residential openers come in three drive types. Belt-or-chain models (ReliaG 1028/2028/3120, IntelliG 3024, and Connected Pro 1128/2128/4124) run a trolley along an overhead rail and can be set up as a quiet belt or an economical chain. Direct screw-drive models (TriloG 4064 and the 4164) use a rigid screw rail with few moving parts for fast, low-maintenance lifting. Wall-mount models (6070H, 6170H-B) bolt beside the door to free up ceiling space.

Genie has been a trusted name in garage door openers for decades, with a versatile residential lineup organized by drive type: convertible belt-or-chain trolley openers (ReliaG & IntelliG Pro Series), fast direct screw-drive models (TriloG), and space-saving wall-mount (jackshaft) units. Most feature Genie's Aladdin Connect smart control, Safe-T-Beam safety sensors, and Intellicode rolling-code security — dependable, value-focused openers for everyday residential use.

Why Choose Genie?

Choice of drive type — quiet belt or economical chain on the same convertible head (ReliaG, IntelliG), fast low-maintenance screw drive (TriloG), or a wall-mount jackshaft for tight garages.
Aladdin Connect smart control built into the Connected Pro and many ReliaG models for app monitoring, alerts, and smart-home integration.
Soft start / soft stop DC motors for quiet, smooth operation and long service life — with strong motor warranties (up to limited-lifetime on premium models).
Safe-T-Beam non-contact reversing sensors and Intellicode rolling-code remotes on every model for safety and security.
Wall-mount options (6070H, 6170H-B) free up ceiling space and add battery backup / Aladdin Connect on the 6170H-B.
