The MMTC FOS-1 Optoeye is a universal thru-beam photocell for gates and commercial doors. The sender shines an infrared beam across the opening to the receiver; when something breaks the beam, the operator stops or reverses.
Before ordering
- Many newer gate and door operators require monitored safety devices made for that operator. Check the operator manual to confirm the FOS-1 is accepted as an entrapment device, or use it as an extra non-monitored eye.
- Check the supply voltage and output wiring against your operator's photo eye terminals.
- Openings over 45 ft or car-wash locations: see the QS30.
Thru-beam eyes need a clear line of sight and solid mounting; most false trips come from alignment, not the sensor. More: safety sensors.
