Raising a door from 7' to 8'?
Many openers need a rail extension for an 8' door. Genie sells separate kits for chain, belt and screw drive rails (37301R, 37302R, 37303R). Rail length is based on door height, so check your opener's manual for the exact rail or extension kit.

What is the trolley on a garage door opener?
The trolley (Genie calls it the carriage) rides along the opener rail and connects to the door arm. Pulling the emergency release handle disconnects the outer trolley from the inner trolley, so you can move the door by hand; it re-engages when the opener runs.
