Lubriplate Vacuum Pump Oil Light is a high-performance, non-detergent mineral oil for rotary vane vacuum pumps. It has high flash and fire points and a high viscosity index, and it's made without additives such as rust inhibitors, so it lubricates without leaving carbon deposits. This is the 1 quart bottle (part L0944-054).
Light vs. standard
Lubriplate recommends the Light grade for rotary vane pumps used with delicate instrumentation, which usually have a drip oiler. The standard Lubriplate Vacuum Pump Oil (ISO 100) suits most other rotary vane and rotary lobe pumps. Use the grade your pump's manual calls for.
Changing the oil
- Drain the old oil while the pump is warm.
- Refill to the level on the sight glass.
- Run the pump to temperature and check the oil is clear. Change it sooner if the pump handles moisture or vapors.
Don't mix with other oils unless the pump maker allows it. This oil isn't meant for garage door openers or hardware; for those see our garage door lubricants.
