This is a pair of Moving Up stainless steel torsion cables for 7 ft high, standard lift garage doors with torsion springs. Each cable is 102 in of 1/8 in 7x19 stainless steel aircraft cable, with a loop at the bottom for the bottom bracket. Stainless resists rust, so it is a good pick for damp, coastal or wash-down garages.

Is this the right length?

On standard lift doors 8 ft and under, the cable is about door height plus 18 in: 84 in + 18 in = 102 in for a 7 ft door. High lift and vertical lift doors need longer cables. See torsion cables in all sizes or ask us.

Options

Always replace both cables at the same time.

Breaking strength is the load that breaks one new cable (Wire Rope Users Manual). It is not a working load rating: the springs carry the door's weight, and cables should be replaced when frayed, kinked or rusted.

WARNING: Springs, cables and the parts they load are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury or death. Professional installation is recommended.
