Marantec garage door opener FAQ
Which remote works with my Marantec garage door opener?
Look at the back of your current remote or the receiver label on top of the opener. If it says 315 MHz, use the Digital 382 (2 buttons), Digital 384 (4 buttons) or the 2-channel micro keychain remote. If it says 916 MHz, use the 382-916 or 384-916. Synergy, M50, M55 and the M4500e, M4700e and M4900e openers run on 315 MHz. The older M4500 and M4700 (without the e) may use a different frequency, so always check first.
How do I program a Marantec remote?
On a Synergy opener, start radio learning from the control panel: when the transmission icon blinks, press and hold the remote button until the icon turns solid, release it and press P to save. To copy the code from a working Marantec remote, use the programming connector (included with the Digital 382 and also sold separately).
My old Marantec Mac-Lift opener uses 40 MHz remotes. Can I still get remotes?
Not 40 MHz remotes, but Marantec's RCP02 external plug-in receiver kit (75424) replaces old 40 MHz and 390 MHz Mac-Lift radios and works with current 315 MHz Marantec remotes. It plugs into an outlet and wires to the opener's wall button terminals.
How do I add Wi-Fi to a Marantec Synergy opener?
Plug in the maveo BlueFi stick (185002) and set it up in the maveo app. It fits the Synergy 260, 270, 280, 360, 370 and 380. Marantec notes that openers made before March 1, 2022 need a control board upgrade first.
What's the difference between the Synergy 270, 280, 370 and 380?
The 270 (3/4 HPCS, 750 N) and 280 (1 HPCS, 1,000 N) are the Synergy 200 series, with a motor head that turns 90 degrees. The 370 (3/4+ HPCS, 850 N) and 380 (1.1 HPCS, 1,100 N) are the faster Synergy 300 series with LED strip lighting. Battery backup is 167329 for the 200 series and 189945 for the 300 series. Pick the higher force for heavy, wide or wind-load doors.
Which Marantec opener mounts on the wall?
The Synergy RDD-25 and RDD-45 are side mount (jackshaft) openers that slide onto the door's torsion shaft. The RDD-25 handles doors up to 850 lbs and the RDD-45 up to 1,150 lbs. Both work with solid and hollow shafts.
Where do I find parts for an older Marantec opener?
Every Marantec model has its own parts diagram page on our site, from the Mac-Lift ML-2005 and the M4500 and Q-series to the current Synergy, RDD and VTA. Each page lists the part numbers, which parts we stock and links to Marantec's owner's manual.
