Stanley garage door openers were common in American homes from the 1970s until Stanley left the residential opener business in the early 2000s. Many are still running, and you can still get remotes, keypads, receivers and replacement parts for them. We carry original Stanley remotes and keypads built by Linear, plus lower-cost compatible remotes from Digi-Code (made in the USA), Transmitter Solutions and Keystone Heddolf.

Most Stanley openers need a 310 MHz, 10-switch remote. Open your old remote or look on the back of the opener: a row of 10 small dip switches means our top picks fit, the Digi-Code DC5012 remote and the Digi-Code DC5202 keypad. No switches and a learn button means SecureCode: use the 370-3352. Not sure? Call 877 379 4947.

Stanley FAQ

Does Stanley still make garage door openers?

No. Stanley stopped making residential garage door openers in the early 2000s. Replacement remotes, keypads, receivers and many opener parts are still available, and we stock the most common ones.

Which remote works with my Stanley garage door opener?

Open the old remote's battery cover or look on the back of the opener. If you see a row of 10 small dip switches, the opener uses 310 MHz fixed code: the Digi-Code DC5012 (our top pick) or the genuine Stanley 1050 works once you match the switches. If there are no switches and the opener has a learn button, it is a SecureCode model and needs the Stanley 370-3352.

Is the Digi-Code DC5012 the same as a Stanley 1050?

It's a compatible replacement. Both are 1-button, 310 MHz remotes with 10 dip switches, so the DC5012 works with any Stanley opener or receiver the 1050 works with. It doesn't work with SecureCode openers.

How do I program a Stanley 10-switch remote?

Set the 10 dip switches in the new remote to the same up/down pattern as the switches on your opener's receiver or an old working remote. Press the button to test. There's no learn button for these remotes.

Can I add a keypad to my Stanley opener?

Yes. For 310 MHz 10-switch openers, use the Digi-Code DC5202 (our top pick) or the Stanley 2986. Both are wireless and mount outside the garage door. On the DC5202 you press Radio Learn twice, type the numbers of the switches that are on, press Radio Learn again and test with PIN 1-2-3-4.

My Stanley opener's radio stopped working. What can I do?

Add an external receiver. The Digi-Code DC5100D mounts on the opener's terminals and works on 310 MHz Stanley remotes. The DC5150 and Hive 300/310 are wall-mount receivers that also work with gates.
